Join the Creative Productivity Challenge Dec. 4-8

Join me for the 5 Day Creative Productivity Challenge. Let’s clear the deck so you can work smarter, get more done, and achieve the Flow state more consistently.

It starts a week from today: OMG! I’m excited (and nervous!)—this will be my first FB live and I will be partnering with NewMusicBox (the fab new music news source from the service organization New Music USA). I’ll be streaming this remotely from Boston and, with the help of the NYC-based NMB team (YAY!), it will be magically broadcast on the NewMusicBox FB page. Fingers crossed that the internet gods will be smiling on us for the challenge!

This will be part of New Music Box’s (NMB) theme week on Creative Productivity and there will also be articles and input from a whole range of new music writers: YAY!

Creative productivity is a topic that’s often avoided because it’s connected to other sensitive mysteries such as talent, inspiration, self-esteem, and potential. Some artists prefer to steer clear of looking too closely at their creative habits, their process, or the emotions connected with their artistic work. They don’t want to tamper with the forces of inspiration, or ‘jinx the muse.’ I get it.

But my experience with this is that most of us aren’t working up to our potential. I’ve found in my own life and in working with clients, that by making a series of small changes in our practical habits and thinking, that we can tap into creative outflow more consistently.

The catch? It requires getting outside our comfort zone.

The 5 Day challenge is designed to help. We’ll cover practical tools to get beyond obstacles such as:

negative self-talk
loss of motivation
procrastination
overwhelm
distraction
perfectionsim
fear

No, I’m not promising a magic bullet. I AM promising straight talk, no BS, and the tools that have helped me and my clients over the years. Plus a set of resources you can access immediately. It’s your opportunity to add new tools to your creative toolbox.

Each day we’ll focus on an essential productivity component:
Day 1: Creative habits
Day 2: Internal messaging
Day 3: Purpose
Day 4: Process
Day 5: Confidence

And the best part is that because we’ll be live, we’ll do Q&A and sharing as a community so that we can learn from each other. I’m looking forward to hearing what has helped you and what resources you recommend.

Please mark your calendar and plan to join me for the Creative Productivity Challenge: Mon.-Fri. Dec. 4-8, 12 noon ET (9 am PT). To get reminders, please “like” the NewMusicBox page. That week NMB also has a set of writers contributing articles related to helping musicians become more productive. I’m looking forward to “seeing” you there!

This week: To get a head start, the question we’ll be asking people to submit for Day 1 is: what’s your favorite way to procrastinate? [Or, what’s your go-to excuse to avoid working on your most challenging project?]

As always, I welcome your comments and questions—looking forward to hearing from you!
