Dysfunction as Advantage?

The serial entrepreneur/educator Steve Blank has done an unofficial survey of his classes on entrepreneurship that’s led to his theory on the surprising advantage that folks with dysfunctional family backgrounds have.

What he says about entrepreneurs here absolutely applies to musicians. Check out this 2 minute video.

(Especially interesting when you think of the purpose of art is to make order out of the chaos of life experience.)

Of course he does point out the downside as well. But maybe the real challenge here is to see our own patterns of behavior and figure out in what types of circumstances we typically need help. Is it in handling chaos or is it preventing ourselves from creating more chaos?

Questions to consider this week: How do you handle chaos and uncertainty? And how well do you handle things once they are stable? When is the best time for you to get help?

For info on working with me: details are HERE.
