MONDAY BYTES – January 27, 2014
I recently had to move everything off of my computer desktop for a system update. It was a chore and I thought it would slow me down from immediately finding “urgent” files. But I didn’t realize what the upside would be.
The difference was immediate and terrific: I felt as though in clearing my desktop I had cleared my head.
When I sat down at the computer, I now had a blank slate. This gave me a moment – and that’s all we need – to consider what it is I wanted to do next.
This has made me more conscious of my choices.
Throughout the day we choose what we focus on and how we invest our time and energy. But too often we’re operating on “auto pilot” and forfeiting our right to be intentional with our time.
Give yourself the gift of choice: instead of booting up and being overwhelmed with projects on your desktop, clear your clutter.
Question: What’s on your desktop? An inspirational photo or message can be great, but . . .
Recommendation for the week: clear the desktop clutter!
As always, I’m interested in your feedback and ideas!
