If the hero’s journey of your music career is stalled, you too may be asking yourself what’s wrong, what’s missing, and what’s next?

The stalled musician — is your career in a holding pattern?

The typical musician whose career is stalled wants to make a change. So what does she do?

She doubles her effort, puts in more hours, and tries harder.

Think about it: pouring more energy and time into the same ineffective approach — and expecting different results . . . that’s the definition of insanity.

The music career excuse catalog

We all make excuses. We tell ourselves fairy tales to rationalize our situations.

This can go on for months, even years. (It did for me before I finally had the guts to make real change in my own career.)

While we’re stalled and maybe too afraid to commit to real change, it’s oh so easy easy to tell ourselves . . .

Things will get better when I just . . . (pick your rationalization)

Have more time
Find the right collaborators
Get an agent / sponsor / fairy godmother
Win that job
Quit this job

So can we be real here?

Let’s finally admit that thinking ‘some day’ everything will work out isn’t getting you closer to achieving your goals.

These fantasies only keep you stuck in the place of hoping and wanting to change but not taking the scary step outside your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay in your own cocoon of self-limiting beliefs about not being ‘ready’ because . . .

Most musicians struggle with career advancement issues in isolation.

Most musicians don’t get the expert feedback and support that’s needed to make real change.

Unfortunately, working in isolation only reinforces being stalled in your journey.

Why? Because we don’t know what we don’t know.

What’s missing is an expert mentor to challenge and expand your perspective, your actions, and your options.

This isn’t simply a matter of getting expert feedback and instruction on how to move forward.

Things are never that simple.

To make real change, to gain real traction in your career, you’re going to need to confront whatever mindset issues — and we all have these — are getting in your way.

Typically, musicians harbor self-limiting beliefs and negative self-talk patterns that can slow or even immobilize us in our hero’s journeys.

It’s all the fear, the self-worth issues, and the comparing ourselves to others that can make us our own worst enemies. I teach musicians how to work past these obstacles, using a set of Tools and strategies I’ve gathered and tested over the years.

So what’s the solution: what’s a Hero to do?

In myths and stories, the Hero has a mentor. A trusted experienced guide to help her along the way.

For musician heroes, the mentor may be an experienced music career coach who offers . . .

  • Expert, objective feedback.
  • Real-world advice.
  • Strategies and tools to get past the musician mindset traps.
  • And especially — the accountability to help you stay on track.

My question to you: Who’s in your corner?

What’s it going to take to make real change?

Let me put it to you:

What do YOU think is missing in how you’ve been managing your music career?

Because if what you’ve been doing isn’t working, it’s insane to keep going with the same method and expect things to get better.

Isn’t it time to get serious about getting a new plan and the help to implement it?

I have just 2 remaining spots open for my Beyond Talent Power Group program. So if you’ve been sitting on the fence on this, now is the time to act.

Are you ready for the Hero’s Journey of your music career?

Are you . . .

A committed, hard-working professional musician ready to take your career to the next level?
And are you looking to level up your self-management skills
— so you can get more of your best work out into the world?

Maybe you need to . . .

Fine-tune your promotional materials,
Upgrade your networking skills,
Address the mindset issues that have held you back,
And get out of your comfort zone
— so you can finally turn your inspiring project ideas into realities.

You’re Invited

You can get a personalized roadmap along with an action plan and a support structure. This will help you finally get on track with your career — to become the artist you are meant to be.

There are just 2 remaining openings for my Beyond Talent Power Group starting June 1. If you’ve been sitting on the fence with the Hero’s Journey of your music career, if you’ve not stepped forward into your future, this is your chance to change all that.

Here are the details.

What’s a Beyond Talent Power Group?

It’s you joining me and three fellow musicians in a dynamic forward-leaning six-month small group coaching program.

We will meet online on Zoom every other week for group coaching sessions twelve times over the course of six months. During each session, you will have 30 minutes of laser-focused coaching with me where we’ll work through the next action items on your plate and trouble shoot whatever might be a sticking point.

The added advantage you’ll gain is that you’ll be doing this in the context of a small group. So you’ll get to listen, watch, and learn as your group mates also problem solve and advance their careers. The group energy and support is what compounds the learning and energizes the progress of Power Group members.

The essentials: Beyond Talent Power Group (small group coaching program)

  • 12 small group coaching sessions over the course of our empowered six months together.
  • An additional monthly copy-editing session in our private FB group ‘office hours.’ Great for promo materials, projects, Q&A.
  • Simple email support from me between sessions. Got a quick question? I’ve got you covered.
  • Unparalleled support from me and your fellow Power Group mates.
  • A personalized roadmap and strategies designed to boost your career and your artistry.

Who’s it for?

  • Professional musicians ready to invest in their careers and in themselves.
  • People who are used to self-managing their careers and are looking for ways to improve their approach and results.
  • Musicians who are ready to do the necessary work to change their habits and mindset.
  • People prepared to devote consistent focused time (at least 10 hours per week) to do the necessary work to move ahead.

Who’s it NOT for?

  • Students and recent grads. If you’re still (or recently) in school, this program is not for you. It’s for active experienced professionals.
  • It’s also not for musicians who are unclear about their desired goals.
  • And it’s not for musicians looking for someone to magically propel their careers forward. I’m a coach. Not a booking agent, manager, or publicist. My mission is to help you become better at managing your own career.

What to expect from me

I love my work: teaching clients how to level up their promo materials, their networking, the productivity, and their mindset so they can get more of their best work out into the world.

I offer clients a system and a set of tools that takes the guesswork out of advancing their careers . . .
