MONDAY BYTES: February 2, 2015 ![]() At the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla, you can find amazing varieties of Sea Horses and Sea Dragons—I first visited there more than twenty years ago—and these creatures are mesmerizing. I recently made another pilgrimage and fell in love all over again, specifically with the Leafy Sea Dragon. These creatures cast some kind of spell—they really know how to simply BE in the world. For me, they’re a great reminder and metaphor to be present. The memory of them—a mental picture I can conjure—helps remind me to be fully in the now. Take a look at this short video of a sea dragon (you may want to mute the audio) and see what reaction you have. Question: Do you have an image or meditative practice helpful for you to get centered and grounded before performances, interviews, or any stressful presentations or meetings? Bonus: create an original sound track for this short Sea Dragon video below. This might make a great class or studio assignment? I’d love to hear what you make! For info on working with me: details are HERE. Monday Bytes archived posts are HERE. |
